How the calculation works
- CNSS (employee) = 4.48% of gross, up to MAD 6,000 a month (0.52% short-term + 3.96% long-term).
- AMO (employee) = 2.26% of the whole gross.
- Professional expenses = 35% of gross if annual gross is up to MAD 78,000, otherwise 25%, capped at MAD 35,000 a year.
- Net taxable income = gross − CNSS − AMO − professional expenses, annualised.
- IR uses the 2025 scale (0% up to MAD 40,000, then 10%, 20%, 30%, 34% and 37%), less MAD 600 per dependant a year (up to 6).
- Net = gross − CNSS − AMO − IR ÷ 12.
Employer cost adds 6.40% family allowances, 8.98% CNSS (capped), 4.11% AMO and 1.60% vocational training tax.
The seniority bonus, exempt allowances (transport, representation within limits) and complementary pensions aren’t modelled. See the Morocco payroll guide.
Frequently asked questions
How is salaire net calculated in Morocco?
Gross salary minus the employee's CNSS (4.48% up to MAD 6,000 a month), AMO (2.26% of the whole gross) and income tax (IR). IR is calculated after deducting those contributions and professional expenses.
What is the CNSS ceiling in 2026?
MAD 6,000 a month, for the short-term and long-term branches only. AMO, family allowances and the training tax have no ceiling.
